| Hi Everyone, No weight movement this week, not surprising given the food and beverage choices I have been making. I see the doctor tomorrow. I was going to ask for a small fill, but think I might give it a miss for another 6 weeks and see how I progress. I've had a cold the last few days, glad to be seing the tail end of it. Took myself to the movies today and saw Water for Elephants, beautiful! Hope everyones travelling well Kirsten | |

| Its so touchy i know Cate. I think slow is the way to go...your new mantra. 'slow is the way to go!' lol And when the hunger bites it really bites huh. Still i'd rather be hungry and eat something than be vomiting and feel like i'm choking...i think you'll hit your spot with the .1 fills. Hang in there mate. Sounds like fun with the pony. I love animals, even stubborn ones. lol | |

| Hi Tanya...well last time I had a fill ( .25mls) i spewed for days, and never really recovered, have alway had lots of blockages but they got worse...I find I get so sore after fills, and most times they will settle, sometime after 3 weeks. I feel that I am now needing more, so somewhere between now what ever my band has in it and the .5mls I had out, I hope to find that 'zone'...but I feel that I will have to do it very very slowly ( as Debs stated) otherwise I will start spewing badly again, and have heartburn and feel like I have just had a feed of razor blades, and this feeling like I have a clamp around my throat always - just do not want to go there again... Just done 100 rounds of the paddock with Grand daughter on the pony - stubborn little thing it is ( pony...LOL).....looking forward to that cuppa now....hope you are all having a good day...xoxoxo Cate | |

Hi Cate, What do you mean 'reactive', what happens? It would be good to know because I do a fair bit of complaining that I have to wait 8 weeks between fills ;) It sounds like the kids will have a wonderful time at Nanna's over the weekend! You can rest on Monday (maybe). |

| Yes, have to agree with you debs.....I think the .5mls was a little to much, as I am sooooo hungry, could have eaten the bum out of a low flying duck at midnight last night!!!!....... It seems that my fills have to be small and slow, otherwise I get so reactive to them.......but it is good to be able to eat a normal range again........I find I cannot drink fizzy drinks, they hurt, and do not use them to unblock a blockage as it now seems to make it worse......oh and any hot drinks have to be sipped slowly..... Over all....I am travelling fine, glad I have had the band, and it seems that it takes a while to adjust to it all emotionally and phyiscally, I would like to get to the stage where I forget I have one, and every thing I do is normal ( eg small portions, only eat certain foods, chew chew chew, all with out thinking about it)... Have a great weekend all, I think we are cleaning up the yard ( all 120 acreas of it!!!...LOL) grandkids have birthday parties tonight and tomorrow, and grandkids staying.....and maybe, just maybe, I will get a nanny nap in....... | Woo-hoo Kirsten! Bet it looks great. I love red hair. Cate, maybe this is a good thing for a little while...just to get some food into you that you've missed. The iron from meat, fibre from bread etc...you might you have an initial gain then things will settle down now you're eating better. Then in a month or so try adding .1 of a mil and increasing it by teeny tiny increments. Just a thought. Its good that you eat a variety of food though because thats what you're supposed to be able to do. My doc says some people do have foods they just can't eat but overall the aim is to still eat variety just limit portion size. If thats what's happening you might be at a good spot? I can eat meat also, but only a small amount, and i can eat a slice of bread if its toasted, and wraps too. (Days do vary though.) Overall though i like that. I'm just so glad you're eating again though and not vomiting lots. Well done. They are so fickle though. I had some chinese the other day and ate quite a lot and had no probs (really enjoyed it :) and then last night i ate a tiny piece of shaved chicken and got the worst blockage. Its so random. lol debs | |

| Just thought I would share, after having the unfill on Monday I seem to now be hungry and looking for food, which has not been the case till monday, I can now eat meat again ( any type), bread ( 1/2 sandwich, but wholemeal bread) etc, maybe .5mls was too much to have out, interesting that so little can make such a big difference....!!!! Well done all on the weight loss....you all should be proud, we are all doing well....slow buy steady.....congrats all

| That is such great news Cate, i'm so glad you got some out and things are feeling a little better. Onwards and upwards! Long may it continue. I've lost a little too. I think i'm down to 93.5 kgs now. Should update my stats huh. lol This extra mil i got is doing the world of good. I'm getting lots more stuck moments but i have lost a 1.5 kgs so it must be worth it. What colour do you think you might go Kirsten? A sexy red head? :) I'd like to try a different colour but my hair is soooo dark i would have to bleach the arse out of it and it would look like straw. lol Oh well.... Keep us posted on the 'new you'! Very true Tanya, every 200gm counts. debs | |

| Yeah..had a great day, no pain, no spewing, enjoyed what I ate....and now I seem to be eating healthy instead of heading to fat foods that slide down easy....hope it lasts........( Cate is very happy)
PS..(following morning)...just weighed myself, 1.2 kgs down since my last weigh in at home......slow, but down..I have now lost nearly 25% of my weight...( well I think that's right)....but did try to eat brekky...bad choice - weet bix, up it came......miss not having brekky.........
Just changing my weight, interesting to add...I seem to go weeks without any loss, and suddenly drop down ......

| Totally agree Cate. A doctor said to me once if I put on just 1 kilogram a year over the next 10 years I will be in trouble. But now the band is taking us 10+ times faster in the opposite direction! Keep those 200gms coming Kirsten!

| Congrats Kirsten. well done....I forgot to weigh in, have to be tomorrow now....moving down is MOVING DOWN, does not matter how much.......I am sure without banding I would be 140kgs by now.....but still alot of poeple look, and do not say 'oh you have lost weight' I just get the funny looks...strange......and I still get from my family 'you shouldn't be eating that' or ' thats too much isn't it'...grrrrrrrr Cate xoxoxoxo | |

| Hi All....went and saw my usual Docs partner, she was lovely, and immediately took some out, said it was far to tight ( but I have had this spewing since day 1 I said, so she is going to monitor it)..she wanted to take out 1ml but I said .5ml to start with, feels better already, I think I have only 2.5mls in a 7 ml band now, so not a lot to take out.........had a huge blockage last night whilst travelling, had a few of my hubbys chips, and I mean a FEW...3 hours later still vomiting, thank god i had a zippy bag, I couldn't believe the amount of fluid that I spewed up, and the bloody pain......also I have lost 4kgs since the last visit, that is in 8 weeks, by my scales I am stuck, but will weigh in tomorrow....we will see....... Hope everyone is travelling ok on this SLOW journey.......Oh I have to add, I felt that my pants were 'funny' today and how embarrassing, they are on back to front, my god, it must be old age......lol Take care all Cate xoxoxo

| Thanks Deb..seeing a dr on the 23rd, if I last that long, have chest pain that is driving me nuts, I am sure it is the band, had pea and ham soup tonight, that stay down, but was unable to eat it 2 nights ago.....cannot wait till thre 23rd.....( currently feeling like putting my hand down my throat and pulling the bloody thing out if I could!!!) Fe, I feel you pain also, family are nasty at times, I feel i am the most gentle of people, try not to be nasty, but seem to get all the shit...I get told ( by certain offsprings) that I do to much for this kid, not enough for that one, why do I allow the kids to leave a mess after visits ( so what)....etc etc..... | Cate, have you made an appointment for a second opinion? I really think you should. I had a bad sliming episode the other day and god it was horrid...disgusting. I remember you saying it happens to you a lot and just thought i could not live the rest of my life like that. It must be so awful for you. Please please please get a second opinion. I know i'm a nag so i'll shut up now. :) I'm sure your bro will come round in time Fe. Maybe having a baby will make him see how petty he's being, that there are more important things to be concerned about now than hurt pride. Fingers crossed for you. debs | |
