Welcome Back Cate,

I am super impressed that you managed to lose 6 kilos while in the North America, I have a friend who is there right now and I'm pretty sure he knows exactly where your 6 kilos are lol.

Debs is away right now. But we hope to have her back home with us all very soon.

Really glad to hear things are going along smoothly and happily for you.

Cheers
Tara

Have not been on for ages, and so much water under the bridge...been away overseas again, this is getting a habit...had a great time in Canada and alaska, now booked to go back next year, just love the place. And surprise surprise lost 6 kgs whilst away, so this has got me motivated, and of to the dr i went for top up....only put .25mls in, and will go back in 4 weeks...things are changed alot at the dr, the original dr is not there now, and the rooms have moved, and a nurse now does the fill, all good.......
How are all the others going....Debs, are you still about???
Cheers all

My gosh Cate you're back! Was quite worried about you as i hadn't heard from you for so long but i'm glad you're ok. Wow, overseas? How exciting! Gosh i can relate to your problems with the band...i was the same way until i had some fill out, now i can eat steak again! Yours is practically empty though from what i remember. :(

The band board is so quiet now, nearly everyone has gone for some reason (i tend to think most people are having the same struggles with their bands so have left rather than stay and admit failure) that's only my opinion though. I am in the process of getting my doc to revise my band...removing it for good, waiting three months and then getting the sleeve done. A few girls from this board have had it done and they say life is so much better.

Tara and i were the only ones left in the august thread so we've moved across to the Junies thread with the few remaining girls over there....Zippy, Linda, Losingit, Delia, Tara and Me. You're welcome to come over and have a whinge about what a let down the band can be if it doesn't work for you...that's what we're all doing. lol If you read back a few pages in the Junies thread you'll see what i mean.
I'm struggling with my band too, was eating only crap slider food because that's all i could eat. Doc took fill out and i can eat again but i've put on a few kilos. Infact, i think i've only lost about 10-12kgs with the band in 2 years.
Hope you recover well from your trip...and come on over to the Junies thread and say hi, trust me, they understand what you're going through.
Welcome back,
debsx

Hi All...hi debs....sorry, been over seas, so glad to be back home...was not good re food, only place i could get a meal that i could keep down was McDonalds, hate McDonalds, but their salads are ok....we travelled Greece, Croatia and Italy, !!! just hated the food......well my band did....lol
Still having issues, if I do not have a hot drink 10 mins before i eat, i cannot keep anything down, such a pain....have not lost any more weight but nor have i put any on.....isn't it amazing - the food that does stay down is junk food!!! ice cream, waffer biccies, chocolate etc etc try and have a nice meal, and I vomit!!!
Better get to bed, promise to drop in more often....will read some of the old posts tomorrow and catch up with every one...take care all xxxx

Hiya Rose,

I saw that Debs (I think) told you about Vitacost.com for the yummy shakes .. I have more coming so I'll let you know if they are all yummy.

Anyhoo they have a refer a friend and you both get $10 off your next purchase.
So if you are going to go ahead and shop with them let one of us know and we can send the the "friend" link and you'll save some cash.

Personally I still prefer my peanut butter straight from the jar but we both know where that gets us lol.
Here's the link to their Isoflex Peanut Putter shake page.

crime is the right word to use.
Was going ok early stages day 3 or so
then next thing bloody people over and its a wine the left over honey whisky the two large family blocks of kit kat(on sale$2 each some exercise fighting the kids of to get a share) nando chicken with rocket and walnut salad and ice creeam to boot( kind of tipsy by then iether the alchole or sugar rush who knows
Its all kind of bad if Iam thinking shakes but not so bad i hope if I had it all down in front of me on a table it would feed the third world like they do on some of those tv shows Ive been better today!!! but still think my scales are broken

Thanks delia....I think I only had about 3mls in my band, and that being 12mths ago, so now much less.....but I am finding that I'm starting to feel hungry, and not satisfied after a meal - i am looking for food....maybe need to trip back to dr and a chat.....
Also got myself a treadmill...OMG over did it the first week, and it has taken a week for my knees to go down....lol started again to day - doing 15mins at a slow steady pace twice daily.....I love the look on my 2 raggy cats faces as I do it, as they are always at my side and just cannot work this out, but they lay on the floor next to it as I pace it out....lol

Care how are you?
I had .5ml out a while ago and .25 before Christmas and I am fine just serve small amounts. Maybe you could try a little out and see how you go. For me it is not worth getting food stuck orsliming. I still have restriction.
Remember in cold weather some people feel the band tightening up.
Yes I like to have a hot coffee or tea before dinner or lunch when out. It does ease the band up.

Just dropping in...hope everyone is ok......
Have had some issues with band,. not sure what is happening, but a lot of pain, heartburn....it started when I ate a rather large meal, (well 2 baby size bowls over 1 1/2 hrs) I call it large....chest pain would wake me up during the night, it has started to settle, and I am now very mindful what I am eating and quanity ( never ate large lots, but more careful now)....have also noticed that I MUST eat very slowly, ( thought I was slow before) just to get the pouch moving ( which seems to be a lengthy process) otherwise it all comes back up.......hmmmmm...But is has got better over the last few days.....hard work this band.....
The other thing that I am finding is eating when out, If I do not have a cuppa before, I cannot eat, no matter how small i chew my food, I have to have that warm drink and get the pouch working - this can be so hard, have started to take a vacuum flask of tea with me.....does anyone else have these issues.....I have not had a fill for over 12mths, thought it would settle by now....
Care :(

Hi Guys,
Its been awhile and I'm so glad I found you all again. I have alot of catching up to do I see.

For me the past year has seen me loose another 15 kgs after a long period of loosing nothing :( I am now at 137kgs, down to pants size 20, back into a 26-22 top (depending on the style and cut) and feeling great.

Hope to chat again soon
