ok I have an appointment for an unfill 24 August. I always feel like I have something in my throat that I have to clear. This is even first thing in the morning. Do you think it could be band related.

Loosinit you are a long suffering... an absolute rock!

Linda it could be band related... reflux is sometimes presented as a persistant cough.

He he

Well I have been taking the tablets for 4 1/2 weeks now. I am functioning much better. I am not cured but coping much better. I am just taking half a tablet of the lowest dose a day.

Off to see our daughters new place in Melb and then going out to lunch.

I think I will get some fill out. Eating is a battle. It shouldn't be this hard. I still have a cough even after 2 bouts of antibiotics and 1 in thailand. Alan is convinced it is band related.

Hiya all,

I am away with friends for the weekend and honestly ALL I have done is graze ALL day long on lollies, chips, dips, oh , the cheeses, soft drinks and good old Milo. It's been thoroughly disgusting !!!!!!!

So I am actually really looking forward to starting a juice cleanse on Monday. Loads of green leafy vegies (eww and ahh.)

Watch this space cos I think there will be some hard core complaining happening by Tuesday!!

Nite all,
Tara

evening all ...just checking in to see whats happening... its very quiet.

Hope your ok Loosinit... I am thinking of you but dont want to bother you when your in a bad place a the moment... I wish I could pop in for a cuppa.

All going well here with the sleeve. Still losing weight and lost another half a kilo this week though honestly I dont know how... I have been a tad rebelious this week and been eating nibble stuff at a lot of get togethers.

I am pretty happy with how its going. Still havent found a food my sleeve doesnt like all be it in small portions....though perhaps its bread cos it kinda stings a little when it goes down. Not a big deal to me cos I next to never eat it but I did pinch a bit the other day....however I have tried garlic bread and it was fine... though it did stop me eating my meal cos it filled me up.

I need to drink more water. Because my hunger is reduced I just never consider drinking unless its a cup of tea. Dont know why but I have decided to physically force myself to start drinking more h2o.

Still not hungry but do get head hunger...still eating around a quarter cup sometimes half a cup on a good day. Some say it will increase to a full cup while others a few years out are still at the half cup measure. My doc said it wont change that much from now unless I force it...in otherwords deliberately and consistantly over eat to stretch the sleeve.

Dont think I would be able to do that I really dont like the feeling of being over full and uncomfortable.

I still cant eat sugar or milk... not a pleasant reaction but again I dont see that as a negative. I have always had soy milk anyway so its no biggie and the sugar thing is a bonus to my health so woot woo for that.

I have no regrets at all in fact I wish it had been my first choice but then perhaps I would not have appreciated it as much as I do.

BBqs are no longer a subject of fear and I go to them and enjoy the food and company with out pain or embarrasment.

All in all so far ....so good.

Me to. I am so tired of the cold sweat I break into if someone invites me to their home for dinner.
Or worse, I work with old people - try explaining a gastric band and why you cannot eat food before 4pm let alone the muffin they are insistent you eat at noon.
Or, the having eaten out at a restaurant and then trying to throw up quietly in the loo.

I'm starting to seriously think about the sleeve.

Only finances holding me back at this point.

Wow, having just reread what I've written I think I have actually made my mind up already I WANT & NEED A SLEEVE !!

Well said zippy...I agree....It has been 2 years for me..only foods I can eat is - lousey foods....the band is so fickled, and I will often throw up after a small drink....I have lost a little weight the last few weeks, as i have retired and working my butt off in the garden, so doing a lot of phyiscal work, certainly have not gained any ( lost a about 35kgs all up) ..certainly not the answer to weight problems we were led to beleive...

honestly I cant tell you all how depressed I was with the band in the last 2 years of me having it.

I couldnt eat properly but still gained weight on small amounts of food. I got so low I even wondered what the use of living was... however it is not something you are doing wrong, in fact the band teaches us to eat the lousy food because it is the stuff that goes down easy.

Your metabolism isnt broken rose... if that were the case I would not be able to lose weight now... its just confused.

I hate seeing everyone so down and out. I wish so hard that there was more honesty with the band at the outset. I think its a good short term weight loss tool but long term it has pit falls. It certainly is not the miracal it is marketed to be.

Yar I totally understand too.... I couldnt do it on my own either and having the band after a while was like doing it on my own. It is not an easy task and I admit I failed brilliantly.

I would love you to keep posting... I have missed you and I dont care if your skinny or not so skinny...losing or gaining... I am just happy to hear from you.

There are more people in your situation than are not in it.

I lost myself. There simply is nothing for me to say, other than I shall be fat for the rest of my life. I have lost all hope and motivation. As well-meaning as anyone's suggestions might be, I am the only one who can make the commitment and shift the blubber. I don't have the heart to attempt it all over again, for the millionth time.

Linda so glad you are feeling better and no rocking.
I have a boiled egg cooker. This is my third and it is just one from Aldi and works fantastic. I just cooked eggs for tomorrow and the next day. I think it was only $14.00. The one I had before was from The Warehouse (Sams) it worked great also and I had a Sunbeam before but did not really like it.
