| Excited for you girls having the sleeve. 35k will be gone in about 3 months. that is what 2 of my banding sleeve members in my group have done. I put on 6k over Christmas New Year but on Dukan right on the 1st and have lost 3k already. Love the plan and I guess I am lucky I can eat anything. I was thinking I should have some fill put back in but if I can do it without I will. Restriction is very low but in a way I like it like that. I know I am eating more then what I was with more restriction but it is (taking out Christmas season) good solid food. Good luck Delia | |

| LOL Tara you're so funny. I can relate to the terrible weight gain though! It goes on crazy fast doesn't it. What is the post op diet? I wasn't told about a post op diet...i just assumed you can eat whatever you feel capable of? I guess it depends if there's much damage or not? What did your doc tell you? Zip did you have to follow a post op diet? Thanks Zip! Yep so excited...only a few days to go...the countdown is on :) | |

Maybe without the band and eating proper food you won't gain.

| Hiya Girls,
Have you started planning your post band foods yet Debs ??
I had a moment the other day when a friend was booking accomodation for a few days away; I told them no point getting the place that had the Continental breakfast cos I cannot eat of a morning blah blah blah, then I realised I will not have a band during that weekend. Woo Hoo. And can therefore actually eat ... FOOD !!!!!
Since then my evil little mind is plotting away.
I want a fresh thin crust gourmet Pizza. And a Vegie Burger from Grilled.
OOOOH OOOH and Vegiemite TOAST !! OMG TOAST !!!
Ba ha ha okay soooooooooooo since I had the appointment in October to arrange the Sleeve I have gained around ONE KILO PER WEEK (yep I challenge anyone to have done as well !!) Who even thought that was possible.
So with that in mind can you imagine how much damage I could do without the band ! Still hoping I won't go beserk .. erk well that's a whole other post.
Laters Tara | |

| Yeah zip, so glad i don't have lurch this time. I thought he was nice enough but so expensive and did crack wise about weight. I find men are worse when it comes to weight comments...or maybe women just do it in secret and hide their remarks better :) Half a kilo is nothing...that is brill for the festive period. I can go up and down by 2 kilos in a day. I don't know how, maybe water? It throws the measurments out though. That's nice that you've got hubby home for a while...you can burn off the excess kilo in other ways ;) Well the hospital rang me this morning just to go over some details...all is well and i'll be going in on Tuesday arvo sometime. I never thought i'd be this excited about surgery....although i think i was easily this excited, probably more so, when the band went in. Oh i had such high hopes! LOL The way i see it though is i probably would never have thought about the sleeve had i not tried the band first. Better go, i am baking my man a cake for his birthday tomorrow...hello another kilo! Hahaha... Hope you girls are traveling well. debsx | |

| Deb, doc peck didnt say anything to me when I went in for removal or sleeve but lurch said when I went in to get the band out "so we wont be seeing you again will we because you will get this weigh off and keep it off with out the help of surgery"
On return of sleeve I was so slapped down when he tutted and said " couldnt do it huh!!!"
Doc Peck however has always been non judgemental and supportive and trust me I went from 63 kilos to near 98 in record time so I get the fat suit feeling.
Linda congrats on the 2 kilos...I can do 2 kilos in a frigging day ( I am a proffessional!) so 2 kilos in a year..woot wooo!!
gained half a kilo over xmas... but shit I deserved it. What little I could eat completely consisted of crap and booze. Not arsed about it really tho I do feel brain fluffy from shit over load.
I have 1 more week with hubby home which means more fire light wine and sweets ( which I never eat normally)
I threw the last of the fruit cake out this morning and will do the same with all the chocolate ( which has been a staple for breakfast for me of late) when I can get it out of my husbands site and into the bin.
Off to sydney this weekend so wont even bother cleaning up my act, the booze is the deal breaker and its what puts weight on me so now the festivities are done it wont be an issue.
Much better result than the past few christmas hols gone by where 5 kilos was my gift and I would lose 1 or 2 of them then kept the remainder to add on to the increasing bulk.....such is life.

| Well done Linda, 2kgs in a year is nothing and congrats on the loss. Hope the changes help with the rocking. I'm right there with you Tara! 100kgs again... not long now though and the band will be gone....then i'll see the weight really pack on! lol | |

| Major bummer. I was 95.1 on new years day. 2 kgs up on last year so it wasn't actually all that horrific. I am trying a new tack. I am just trying to eat as healthily as possible but I have cut out the booze and therefore the snacks after a few wines. It helps me sleep better so makes the rocking less. It is only day 3 but I feel a lot better and I have lost .6kg. I am drinking heaps of water as well.
Good luck everyone. Let us make this our year to shine!

| Oh my goodness. It didn't sound like a good idea i must say. There is a girl on the sleeve board who is getting it one in a few weeks! I'd never heard of it but it can't be comfortable having an organ folded in half and then stitched into place...plus you've still got the puking and sliming and slider foods issues of the band.I hope she'll be ok. | |

| Yes i have heard of it cos I do the rounds of the yanky forums a lot and they have been doing over there for a while...it has a lot of problems assosiated with it with a lot of stomach damage long term.
People end up having to have their stomach removed and have to move to by pass if complications set in.
Apparently the pleating of the stomach can cause irrepairable damage and one woman even got gangreen of the stomach
It would be one I would avoid.

| It looks a bit weird. How do they get it to stay folded? Be interesting to see if it works. | |

| Well what I lost before Christmas I put back on. Can't wait for this weekend and the new year to be over and then back on plan totally. I hate this time of year and I was given 5 boxes of chocolates and 2 tins of biscuits. Why do people do that????? I have given all way (or eaten them) and the last is sitting wrapped for a birthday on the 12th. Have a great New Year all and catch you in 2013. Delia | |

| I feel pretty happy with myself. I didn't pig out and there isn't any naughty food in the house. I haven't even consumed a fruit mince pie. My neighbour is trying to off load chocolates on me and I said no thanks.
I just booked Bali for June so I am pretty happy about that. Thailand just takes too long now you can't fly direct to Phuket.

| Merry Christmas one and all! Have a fabulous day with family and friends.
I'm about to head off on the 90 min drive to my sister's semi-rural property. Will be there for a few days.
Christmas comes but once a year, so enjoy a bit of all that's on offer!
