Very much a case of battening down the hatches here too, Linda. Hope everything is ok there.

Stay safe.

3 seasons in one day huh.

I made a nice lamb casserole last night it was sooooo good.

Its sultry and warm here today but there is a thunder storm threatened for this afternoon. You can feel summer is on its way.

Very noice. I had a lovely day out in Melb yesterday. We met a friend from Perth and had lunch at a yum cha place and went to costco. She had never seen anything like it. I stocked up on steak and girello roasts. Also toiletries. It was a warm 21 and it felt like spring had sprung. By the time we got home it was 11 and raining. It just snowed for a bit at 7.10am.

I am having lamb chops tonight LOL YUMMO

Just can't get into diet mode. It is too cold and we are going away soon so will worry about it when we get home. Might make a trip into to costco to stock up on steak.

Congratulations....and yes now is a great time to get back into Dukan with you being able to eat better protein sources now.

I am super happy for you.

I had some scotch fillet on the BBQ last night that melted in the mouth and I was in heaven so I can relate Linda

Well its gone from feeze your nip nips off to a sultry 28 degrees here in the last 2 days. I know it wont last but its really nice while it does. I have a thick heavily flowering jasmine growing over an arch in the garden and its perfume is blowing up the hallway and into the kitchen on a nice warm breeze... its so pleasant.

It reminds me of when I was young and we lived near the beach and at that first hint of summer I would walk out there and along the way I would pinch great big handfuls of jasmin off this old ladys fence where it grew wild and ferrel.

Oh to be young and with out worries eh... no scratch that I couldnt stand to go through all the drama again... I will stay old and craggy me thinks

I didnt think I had it either... In the begining I just had a cough and the feeling that I constantly needed to clear my throat as if there was something there like mucus or something. Its not acid rising as much as it a bit of splashing but not enough to give you the full on acid burn.

As its not excessive acid but just the mechanics of the position and pressure of the band that allows it to get up there a little.

Mine started out like that and continued that way for about 6 months then moved on to a sore throat then onto acid washing up.

I don't feel like I have any acid or reflux. I will take the inner health as I have it in the fridge but won't bother with the chalky stuff.

if you had it for a while its quite possible that your throat is still irritated from the acid back wash, so yes it could still be related and I suspect it is as you said it has reduced since fill out.

Try taking a pink gaviscon extra and some over the counter zantac a day... it puts a lining over the tummy and esophigus and might help with the irritation and the zantac will cut down on the acid. If not then the band might not be loose enough yet.

I found that my band was tighter ooooor should I say didnt make much difference restriction wise but less fill still agrivated acid wash in my throat and belly.

I too had a persistant cough as if somthing was in the back of my throat...doc said it was inflamation.

I would take some inner health plus and maybe some zantac and gaviscon for a week or two to help it heal then stop it all and see if it all comes back...then try a little more fill again if you want.

I still have it but not as bad. Do you think it could take awhile to go if the band was too tight? Or would it be instant. I haven't noticed a difference in eating yet but it just feels more relaxed.

morning chicklets.

Freezing cold here this morning, I had intended to go for a walk but have since changed my mind... I have decided I am too bloody old for the inconvenience of legging it round the block in icy cold conditions. I am NOT willing to risk my fingers and toes to frost bite!

I havent made the cake yet delia.. that is on the agenda tomorrow buuuut if I come home from the grocery shopping today in a less than shitty mood I may mix it up this arvo.

How you doing Linda has that cough settle with the fill out. I have been thinking about you and waiting for the results.

Oi Loosinit... where ya iz?? Miss ya! Love ya! And would love to hear from ya!

aaaaaaaah yes I do remember now that you had a persistant cough Linda. I hope this cures it. And yes I do understand that feeling of weighing in quite a bit up on the scales... not a nice feeling.

Delia thank you so much for the recipe. We went out for coffee the other week and I ordered a flourless orange cake slice to share with the hubby cos its low carb....he loved it and nearly hoovered the lot. So I thought I would try making another one. As I said the last one was way to eggy

Rose I had that reaction with a cake once. I mixed up the sugar/salt ratio.. not a good thing to do.. Cake looked bloody fantastic but it made your lips curl back and your eyes turn up.

This is the one I have used for years and you can use a lemon for one orange if you like.
Love it.
2 Oranges ( boiled for an hour, then Puree) take seeds out first but use skin
250 grams Almonds or Almond meal
1 Cup Slenda
1 tsp Baking Powder
6 X 61gm Eggs.

Blend Almond, Splenda & Baking powder to a fine powder.

Mix Eggs into orange Puree, them add Almond mix.

Bake in a Spring-Form pan ( wrapped in tin foil incase of leaks)
and bake @ 180C for 55 to 60 mins.

Can serve with Pure Cream.

Cut cake into 8 Slices, for 4.5 carbs per slice. (Cream is extra).
Cut cake into 12 slices, for 3 carbs per slice.

HI zipps, I have a cough. I have felt my band is too tight but it usually does that in winter. I am hoping that the cough was my sign for reflux and it will all sort itself out. Horrible going back to the surgeon and weighing in in the 90s. I was so happy in the 70s.

Sorry Zippy I cant help you the worst cake i ever made was a was an orange almond one and no amount of ice cream and sugar syrip helped.which sucked as I had even walked to the shops to bye another orange and double boiled the oranges ect. the only fun was watching the kids eyes light up when they sore it and then the horror on their faces when they when they had chewed it a time or two before they let it tumble out of their mouths it the only cake that made it to the bin. .

Why did you get fill out Linda?

I have been stalled for 2 weeks, I dont really give a toss though I have to say because my size is going down and in the right places like my belly.

to be honest Im not bothere if I lose more weight or not, here is a good place to stay.

Still no problems. I get the odd gnawing in my gut which is a bit of acid but it is always always after chilli or anti biotics. I know how to deal with it and it goes after a day or two so its no bother really. And its not that bad, it just feels like I am hungry all day. So when I have felt that I take probiotics and it goes away....or if I have had something with chilli...which usually I avoid I take some gaviscon and its all good.

Really boring to be honest cos I feel so normal like an unweightloss surgeried person.

I hear some having grizzles but to be honest when I compare it to what I put up with in the last two years of my band, this is a bloody cake walk.

today the weather was glorious but I beleive its about to turn icy again. I planted up some lettuce and marta seeds today and on the weekend I am extending my vege patch.

Chooks have come back on the lay since I threatened them with the axe... so tons of lovely fresh bum nuts again. I love my boiled egg at breaky!

Looking for the perfect flourless orange and almond cake. I made one a few months ago but it was too eggy so I gave up but fancy having another crack at it sooooo if anyone has a good recipe I would love to have you share it with me

I got in a week early to see my surgeon. I have had .6ml out. That is the equal of my last 2 fills. Will see how it goes.
