| Cate, I'm so sorry. Thats aweful. Debs advice about the band sounds good. I've never even heard of the mucus thing, so can offer no advice with that. Raerea, first fill, that is exciting. I had nothing in my band for the first 6 weeks and was so looking forward to that first fill Updated 25/8/10 Fe (emeraldrain) Age: 26 H 167cm SW: 122 CW: 112.4 GW: 80kg TL: 9.6kg (21/02/11)

| Oh Cate, i am heartbroken over your loss. How terrible for you and your family. I just can't believe it. I know the pain you're going through, as you know my molly dog passed away about a week ago. Your poor cat. My sister has a ragdoll and they are just beautiful. I definitely think your son needs to pick up his dog. You poor thing, my heart goes out to you. As for your band it does sound like you might need some out. All that slime does not seem normal to me. Its like you body is struggling to get even the smallest amount down, and thats not right. What if you tried getting it all out, leaving it out for a month (don't worry if you put on a bit over that time) Just let your oesophegus heal if it is stressed and after a month slowly start adding fill back. Do you think it could help? Well done Fe! debs | |

| Hi Guys..been away for work....come back to a terrible incident at home, that dog that attacked my poodle, attacked our ragdoll cat and killed it...OMG, we cannot stop crying, so so awful, happen right in our loungeroom, the dog is not allowed off or unsupervised, but our foster daughter decided to lock it in the house yard, with the door open to the house, and then went down the paddock...why does every thing happen when I am away....... I am starting to wonder about this band of mine, for the last week, can only eat in the arvo, impossible to down any food types before 2pm, it seems that the mucas is too thick and it takes to then to move it, can only eat small amounts after that, and I mean small amounts - 1/4 cup max, restriction is great, have no hunger at all, but lots of slime etc if I drink to fast or eat before the arvo.....not sure how lomg I can do this, I am starting to think it is too tight.....but if I have some taken out, I do not lose....a real catch 22.....!!!! Will catch up more tomorrow, so tired, and still very upset over our beloved cat...RIP little man.....:( Cate xoxoxo | |

| Thanks Tanya :) Just remember not to lose hope. This is about my 6th fill (something like that) and it's taken so long to notice anything. Hopefully this loss will start a pattern ;p btw anyone needing some wardrobe items should check out a Kmart near you. went to melbourne for my birthday last weekend and got 9 tops, 4 pairs 3/4 pants, a pair of shorts, and 2 pairs of heels for $110. They had the specials in Shepparton where we live too. Tops and pants from $4 or $5 Down to a 20 on top and a 22 on bottom. Not awesome but much better than 24/26's baby steps :p | |

| Hey Kirsten i feel your pain. I've lost 19kg and i can barely tell. My family and partner are great though, they are always telling my how great i am doing and looking. I just can't see it though. I think i feel like you in that until i am 'thin' i wont be able to notice hardly, because at the moment i'm still just a bit less fat. lol And you're right, it is going sooooooo slow. But we have to remember, had we lost 18kg without the band we would be jumping for joy and thinking how well we've done. I took a photo of myself the other day...the first one since the band last august and i looked at the them and can barely see any difference! I might have a good at posting them (i haven't been game either) but these pics are from the 'back view' (nice angle :) Ha! so you can't see my face. I'll see if i get brave enough to post them... do you have any back view shots? Cate well done on not puking and having a good meal. Hmmm...not sure about your surgeon. I think he has a warped view of what the band should and shouldn't do. The first thing my surgeon says to me is 'are you vomiting' if not he proceeds with the consult. If i have had a chuck, even one, he wants to know everything about it..what i ate, how i ate, if i slimed, where the pain was...etc...' he says if you're doing the right things and still vomiting the band isn't working the way it should be. Can i ask where you got your band done? My surgeon was Dr Peck in Port macquarie. Surgeons are so different re fills hey... mine goes the ml at a time route. I do wish he was a little more 'gung-ho' sometimes though as its such a long slow process to get fill level up. What are you at now Fe, fill wise? debs | |

| Hi all...been off the air a little, just so busy with work etc etc.....saw the dr yesterday, lost 3 kgs since last visit - 6 weeks ago, he feels that is great, had .25mls in...this is weird, ate a good meal tonight, first one in ages with out vomiting.....had no' stucks' at all today....I asked him about the enormous amount of slime that I will often bring up ( sometimes over a cup), just said it is saliva.....but I find once I start vomiting , I will actually bring up my meal, still thought that was ok........anyhow, just keep plodding along..... | hi everyone, Had my check in today with the surgeon, no loss :( (at least no gain either) had a different guy filling in, and he missed my port hurt sooo much!, he fills differently too, he just put a straight ml in, whereas my normal dr fills it up fully (so im completely blocked) then makes me drink cold water, then he slowly lets it out and you tell him whne its gone. its pretty effective (apart from the few seconds where u get that awful stuck feeling) think it will be good, managed a half a dinner roll for tea ;p hope everyone is doing ok :) | |

| Hi Debs, I do have some, but I'm not game to post pictures of me, lol. I know I've got the profile picture there, but it is a minnie picture. What about you, any then and now snaps? I wish I could notice the weigh change more. Because it's so gradual it can go abit unnoticed til you hit that point were you actually looking slimmer and not just fat anymore (if that makes sense) Only 1 non family member knows about the band, everyone else knows I'm on a lifestyle change, but no-one has said anything. A friend I see once a week was stunned when I told her the other day I'd lost 18kgs. I do look forward to someone, one day just coming out and saying 'god damn you look good' bhahaha, no really, just a simple 'you've lost weight' would be nice. My fella, whos head I wanted to rip off last week, was his typical male self, and when I said I'd lost 1.6kgs that week he said 'thats great, keep going'. arrrrr, I could have knocked his teeth out then and there. He's quick to say, no babe, your doing great,, and gives me a hug and a kiss, but the damage is done if you know what I mean. and he wonders why I'm not up for a bedrom romp, lol. sorry thats proberly too much information. I've gone down in cloths sizes and am fitting into t-shirts I was given 3 years ago but were too small then. and I've got a big box of cloths that are too big for me, so I've got to be happy with that. I just can't wait to be smaller. god what a long post, I'll stop now. :) | |
