| Thank you Beth I must try them again. Yes it would be hard to bite into one and I am used to just letting them slip down and thought they may get stuck. I don't have restriction so should try before I get some fill again. Thanks again Delia | |

| I have. When my band was tighter, I struggled...mainly cos it is hard to take a bite out of an oyster! I had a few a few days ago...no problems, which is fortunate cos I adore them!!! | |

| Deb I love oysters but have never tried them since banding. I was told that they are one of the hardest things to eat after being banded.
Anyone else tried them? Delia

| Oooohhh, I have never done this before... Lets see if I can remember what I ate. Breakfast: Protein Shake. Snack: low fat yoghurt and 1 slice of Watermelon. Lunch: Avocado, grated low fat cheese, diced smoked Chicken breast, boiled egg - all mixed together, probably just over a cup full. Snack: 1 carrot chopped into sticks, 1 slice of low fat cheese. Dinner: BBQ, had a small piece of porterhouse steak and a cheese kransky (Oops, the Kransky looked sooo good!) Might have a piece of fruit later - watermelon, apple or nectarine. | |

Breakfast 2 eggs on toast Lunch Salmon, egg and salad with a sprinkle of almonds. Dinner 1/2 piece of kfc chicken with serving of potato and gravy and handful of popcorn chicken. Served with home made vegies. Snacks 1 tub of yoghurt 1 shortbread biscuit. I am staying home for New Years Eve so hopefully will not inflict anymore damage.

| OK...
I need to get back on the wagon. Having some fill replaced on Tuesday, but have been feeling quite bloated so I am gonna take a page out of Delia's book and have a little "Detox" day (well as much as I can on New Year's Eve, anyway!!!!
So far today I have had:
Breakfast: half a large banana, blended with 250ml skim milk, with 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste Coffee with skim x 2
Lunch: Vanilla Kicstart shake (Opti-like)
Dinner: So I went to a party and had 1 margarhita 1 Diet coke 5 rice crackers with pate 3 sml cabanossi pieces 1 tiny (1") sausage roll Not too bad considering!!! I did do heaps of exercise before going too, so all in all....I think I won the battle against New Year's Eve indulgences!

| trust me eating too little is of no benifit... it might be for a little while and the weight comes off but eventually your body catches on and it stops then you have no where to go but to exercise like a demon to try shift it then it will stop again because the body is trying to preserve its vital organs...your hair will fall out, your face will start to wrinkle and you will look aged and gaunt. Been there done that. It is far better to have reasonable fill so you can still eat normally but in smaller healthier portions, the weight still comes off but you retain your muscle your skin tone and your hair plus you will maintain the weight loss much better. Starving the body only sets you up for regain and plateau | |

Lunch Ham salad sandwich on wholegrain bread Dinner 2 Weightwatchers satay wraps and a couple of wedges stolen from my son. Snacks (bad bad bad) Handful of pine nuts, choc covered ice-cream, crackers with ham and cheese, choc caramel santa and a couple of lolly bananas. Its my time of the month and it is alway bad like this. Tomorrow hopefully it will be better.

| It seems that we all still have the head hunger. That is what it is the old habits stuck in our heads. If only we could remove that part of our brain and start again. Now I wonder if with counseling or hypnosis that could be done. I feel that I am so week at times when I just can’t stop grazing and with the wrong foods. I say you don’t need this or you should not be eating any more you have eaten your meal but still the old head does it in at times. The more you allow it to do this to you the easier it is the next time to be dragged in by the head hunger and old habits. I am so guilty of it this last month especially. At other times as well.
What are you thoughts on this? I think I will open up a discussion for this one.
Tralee I was a healty eater as well just to much but do like to have sweets and the more I have the more I want. sugar fix. I rarely drank but since the band I find I do like to have a drink.

| Yeah try not to worry about it, everyone is different. Some people don't need any fill at all, others need 10ml and still don't feel much restriction. Its a trial and error thing and can take a while to get right. For all my whinging though i have lost about 15kg in the last 4 months so i must be doing something right. I doubt i would have lost that weight without the band so i am greatful for the loss i've had. The whole restriction thing frustrates me a lot as i can't seem to get it right...and my doc generally takes six weeks between fills so its sloooooooow going for me. Keep the faith though, i'm sure you'll be fine. Its an exciting time :) debs | |

| Don't panic. The band starts off loose to get you used to it. And then it is gradually tightened. After each tightening you will notice you will need to chew things up more and you will fit less and less in. If you have regular fills things will move for you quickly. I dont think you would want it too tight too quickly. Better to ease into it. Hope that helps. You know where to find me if you need help. | |
