| Yes it is quite fruitless most of the time, and yes your right too much money spent on white elephants, but yet I still do it. I do question it just as you do though Loosinit. Oi I have yet another bastardized christmas food for you that I saw while shopping in coles today.. it adds to the choc topped mince pies... plum pudding bomb. It is plumb pudding that has moulten chocolate inside so when you cut the pudding it oozes out..... and again I ask WHY! | |

| Oi - you lot - anyone out there? Probably doing festive stuff . . . . . . shopping or wrapping or preparing food or partying. Must admit I don't do Christmas shopping, and I certainly don't miss it. All those people scurrying around buying gifts they can't afford, for people they don't like, who will no doubt pretend they appreciate what they're given, only to relegate it to the back of the cupboard. Oh dear, I think my disdain for the commercialisation of Christmas is a bit obvious. It's not all like that, I guess, but I have often wondered why people feel they have to spend increasing amounts on gifts when something simple and practical is probably going to be more appreciated.
Maybe I'd better just hide in the corner. I'm not sounding very good-spirited am I?

| If there's a chocolate diet going, count me in!
My sins often don't show up straight away, and I think I've gotten away with it, but some time later...... it all catches up! I may even have slowed down my consumption today, but I still need a kick up the behind to get back on track properly. I figure there's not much hope now before Christmas, so may as well just wait till New Year. I'm not going to make it a NY resolution - they have always proven to be pointless in my case.
Maybe I'm just not dedicated enough to anything to stick with it.

| Yes it would be lovely and I have just the very place in mind that we should hold it..mwa ha ha haaaaaa.. We would have to drag miss linda pinda in kicking and screaming! Today I bought some diet chocolate mousse and I just had some for lunch. Its the nestle, weight watchers endorsed one so it cant be too bad and it hits the spot chocolate wise... would have been just tickety boo with whipped cream on top though. It might just keep my chubby paw out of the christmas lollie bowl digging for the chocolate santas... maybe it wont too but I will give it a go. I weighed inthis morning for the week and I have ...get this.... lost half a kilo.... How frigging funny is that. See linda chocolate isnt that bad after all | |

| Yeah - I mean why talk about banding stuff on a banding forum? Too bloody boring that would be. Yep - shoot the shit we do, and in person can you imagine any of us keeping a straight face for any length of time? I think we'd be rolling around in fits of laughter. Maybe we need a padded room somewhere.
Are there any in Melbourne? Hmmmmmm - is the pope Catholic? Indeedy-do there are. Highpoint is the closest one to me, but looks like the city has a couple and there are a few other suburban ones. You could do the Taylor's Lakes one as a stopover next time you go to the airport, Linda! hehehe

| I think its a womens disneyland Linda.. and to be honest its so rich you cant get an aweful lot down its just too sweet... and this is being said by a chocoholic. Our thread is hot? wow I didnt notice... we are a bunch of gas bags though.. it ran with smoke coming out of it on the other forum too. Truth is we just shoot the breeze and talk about anything not just band stuff... We really need to all get together and swap bullshit in real life over coffee some day soon. | |

| By the way (after your comment of a sleeker body), have you noticed that we are 'HOT'? Our thread, I mean.
Well, as if we didn't know that already. We are all hot in here!

| Yes absolutely right loosingit. I never signed up for the band to be miserable, in fact quite the opposite, it was to end my pain. Indeed this is not a regular occurance and it is delightful to sit in there eating exactly what I desire for two reasons. One, I dont break out often so it is indeed a decadant treat and high on the special scale. And two... now this perhaps is a NSV of sorts...I could sit in there in my new sleeker body and not be judged by my size for what I was eating.... which in the past would have made me very self consiouce of te glances and asides and I would have declined partaking in the food to spare me the "no wonder she is fat" comments. It was good, maybe it is the remenants of the fat girl who finds such wonder and bliss in an activity involving food rather than rapturing over a scenic view of a mountain. But, truely I have never beheld such beauty as I saw in there yesterday, and I was not alone, there were many enraptured faces, sighs of contentment and feelings of finally have coming home. Now back to the drawing board....eggs it is for breakfast... I will make it two! | |

| Exceptionally restrained, I would say. I can't claim that I would be knocking back cream and ice-cream. I'd figure 'well what the hell, I may as well make the most of it'.
Glad you enjoyed it. I suppose these things are not daily, weekly, or even monthly indulgences, and we don't sign up for banding to completely restrict any enjoyment of previous pleasures. I say lap it up on the odd occasion, and don't even bother feeling guilty. Life is short. I've learned that very vividly in the last couple weeks.

| Here i is... it takes 2 1/2 hours to get to the shopping centre, so I have only just got home.
Well I had afternoon tea at the chocolate den of iniquity and all I have to say is..OMG!!!!!
I stood for ages at the counter...I was the stupified head of a very long line of impatient chocolate crazed women, trying to make up my mind as to what to have.
In my mind I wanted one of everything but settled for a pot of tea.. a chocolate lick (a small pot of melted chocolate with a flat paddle shaped spoon for dipping then licking) and a share of a slice of the divine, that was 3 layers one of dark.. one of milk and one of white chocolate mousses... topped of course with melted chocolate.
now here is where my restraint and claim on saintlyness was to be noted... I knocked back the offer of cream and ice cream on the side.
Now I was interested in the peanut butter and chocolate shake and the chocolate fondue with strawberries but decided it too much. Tempting me at the table next to me was a young lady drinking a pure melted chocolate shot. There were various other devilishly wicked things being consumed and the whole place seemed like a clandestine drug house.
One lady of short stature and husky build was scurrying past my table with a brown bag clutched in her hand when she stopped obviously recognising a kindred soul ( perhaps it was the melted chocolate smeared across my face and dribbled down my shirt). She offered me a look in her bag and animatedly prattled about her purchase and excitedly told me how wonderful this place was. Her face held all the wonder of a small child on christmas morning beholding a present ladden tree.
will I go back you ask? I shall leave that up to you to work out... mean while I have a shirt to go soak... chocolate is notoriously difficult to get out.

| Where's that Zippy woman? I want details, graphic details. Oh and if she cares to mention whether shopping was successful or not, I guess I can pretend I am interested in that too!
Wonder is she's turned a nice shade of brown with what has been consumed today. Then again, if she went a bit overboard, she may well be a shade of green by now! hehehe

As I write, I imagine you are on your way to the big smoke for your 'Christmas shopping'. I hope you find all the things you are looking for!

| loosinit my dear dear friend, how thoughtful and selfless you are...it brings a tear to my eye that you would do that for me...it humbles me. Tomorrow in honour of your sacrifice and good nature I shall enter max brenners with my head held high and order the chocolatiest treat I can find... Then as I wipe the brown dribble from my chin I will raise my glass of melted decadance in the air and charge it in your name... you are a true lil soldier! Red... please tell us you are eating cake...lie if you have to but do come and tell us. | |

| Just call me helpful and thoughtful . . . . . . . I'm thinking the pizza oven, when it's up and running . . . . . being a new item and all, which you are not yet used to using . . . . will be churning out trial pizzas for a while. Sooooooo - I am prepared to put myself on the line, and offer my services as chief taste tester. It's an awful sacrifice, but one I am prepared to make in order that you get expert advice on how to produce the perfect pizza.
Pity you're not just around the corner.

| oh indeeeeeed I will. I have been delegated the job of keeping the fire going in the newly bricked woodfire pizza oven that my husband and co built on saturday. The idea is to keep a low constant fire going in it for a few days to dry the bricks out so that when it gets fired the first time properly it doesnt blow apart. Now I have to tell you I am an incessant fire poker if not a fire bug aaaaand I have at this point a gazillion scorch and burn marks on my hands and arms. Its a comforting change from teeth marks from not removing the appendage quick enough from my mouth. | |

| In the interests of looking after your interests, Zippy - I have clicked on the link, and downloaded the menu. Not satisfied with that, I have accessed the website and found that there is one of these places in my nearest shopping centre. Sooooooo . . . . . . . that still doesn't satisfy me that you are doing the right thing, so I feel it is incumbent on me to check out the place myself. I can't promise I will do that before you head off to yours, but I should be able to do so sometimes soon. All I can say is, I think you may have made the right choice, but I will reserve judgement until I can categorically state that is true.
On second thoughts, forget it . . . . . . if I sat down in one of those places, I have a fear I would be there ALL day, and would need a crane to extract me from the place at closing time.
Only other thing to say is - ENJOY!!!
