| Hey everyone, just had another fill on Thursday now have 7.8 in a 10 band, just starting to feel full (but not content fill), but if I am realy pushed can still eat a fair amount off food. Have had a few stuck moments, but do choose carefully what I can eat. Does anybody else feel like this, it is really frustrating? Do not have another visit to Specialist for another 6 wks, really this is trial and error. But believe me I think these bands are really fickle, eat something one day and not able to eat the same the next!!!!!!! Some days I feel really full and the next day could eat a horse!!!!!!!!!. Does this mean I am not at the sweet spot yet. Westy | |

| Great to hear from you again Westy. I'm moving soon as well and It's an exciting but daunting task.
I have the same situation where I don't eat that much during the day so it catches up with me at night. |

| Hi everybody, sorry I have been off air for 2 months. Shifted from Brisbane to the Gold Cost, been abit stressful (hate shiftng). Not having a good time with the weight loss - so far have lost about 13.5kgs, and have been standing still for about the last 6 weeks. Have been walking my dogs every day for about an hour. Have about 7.ml in my band, finding that during the day I am not hungry, but when it comes to dinner I could eat a horse. Off to my Surgeon tomorrow see what he has to say. Anybody in the same position, would love to hear what I could do for a bit of movement in the weght loss area. Westy | |

| Thanks, Linda & Tanya. I know that it is the stress....I never thought how it could affect the band, but I am a convert. It is really quite bizarre. Ahhhhh, these things are sent to test us!
I am just sick to death of fighting with the hospital system, and the fact that I have to be an advocate for my family. It is made even worse by the fact that I work in the system and have done for over 30 years....Damned frustrating....

| Hi Beth
Yes it will be stress playing havoc with the band. Just try to stick to liquids and mushies until things settle down. Eating solid food will only make it worse for you.
I hope things get sorted out. Sorry you are going through a rough patch at the moment.

| Something I have learned this week, that I would like to share, and hear of other's experiences...
Stress has created havoc with my band.
I have had all sorts of dire family health crises in the last couple of weeks, reaching a head on Mother's Day (I won't go into it...).
I have not been able to eat anything solid for the last week, and even soups I am struggling with, unless I sip real slowly. I know that it is the stress, and will relax, eventually.
I have an appointment in 2 weeks, and may have some fill out then, but I don't have time to go at the moment. Unfortunately, I regret to say that the weight isn't falling off with it...oh well, that's ok.
I hope all are going well. I pop in & out when I can, just to escape my rotten environment at the moment, so if I appear that I am not contributing, you'll know why...
Cheers.. | |

| Its said s That( Fair, Fat Fourtyand female) is a commone grouping for gallballder problems ,, I may have heard that some people (which may include bandits ) who are on a low fat diet and still have a gall bladder may not have the bile expelled from the gallbladder sufficiantly as it would with a high fat meal thus it may premote gall stones and irritation and inflamation to the gall bladder, | |

| Hi Sue,
If the pain came on after eating, (esp if it was a bit fatty if the fish was deep fried, maybe) it sure sounds as though it may be your gall bladder. This is very common in bandits, and for women who are "mature" and overweight.
Fingers crossed, but take note of when the pain comes, and where....so you can tell the doctor...
Good luck! | |

| Hi suzzie, what great kids you've got. Hope you had a lovely mothers day. You could have a slight blockage? I can't see how you would have stretched the pouch with one big meal, it takes time for that to happen so i'm told. It could be a bit swollen and irritated though from all the food going through. Maybe sip some warm water with lemon and honey or some herbal tea and stick to soup for a day or so. You might find it fades as the day goes on. If its still painful in a couple of days...ie you can't drink or eat, maybe call your doc. It doesn't sound too serious though. I'm sure the other girls will have some good advice. Feel better soon. debs | |

| Yeah Ange, it is a bit gamey, but I was surprised I liked it. The other half was shocked at me, when I plonked roo snaggers on the kitchen table, lol. Theres alway those expensive Rib Eyes on the bone I've been getting from coles, they are awesome, and go done a treat!!! The cost doesn't go down so well though, lol. | |

| Aw, Kirsten... I know its great for us, and has virtually ZERO fat but I can't do it... It's gamey and I can't get past the memories of carrying home 4 kg's of kangaroo mince for my grandmothers cats when I was little. Times have changed and the quality is excellent, I know. My husband loves it but I can't cook it for him so he only gets to enjoy it if we eat out... | |

| Heres my random for the day; For the red meat lovers, I've found kangaroo is great. It's a lean meat, high in protein, minimal fat and I've had no problems eating it. I've tried the roo bangers, (lol, got to love the name) and a roast. Might be a good one to try for the people that have trouble with red meat. | |

| Thanks Tanya... had a good day thanks :) Trace started it off with a very 'interesting' version of Happy Birthday lol thanks Trace I actually did a PT session and lesson learnt, dont do them on your Birthday you get smashed even more than normal. I'm paying for it today let me tell you. Had dinner with my Mum & Dad in the same room and a couple of friends. It ended in Mum & Dad fighting about my sister so that sucked a bit. Went to Fellini in the city, best woodoven pizza's in Adelaide :) Off to play golf today... or should I say hit a golf ball and chase it in a zig zag pattern around a golf course lol Hope you all have a great day :) Cheers, Donna xo | |

| Hi Liz I have a ten mil band ( size of the bit that sits around the stomach)but it has only a total of 4 mil fluid fill capacity. Cant remember the brand name different types out there, I too wondered why others seamed to have a greater volume.in then myself Puzzle explained last doc visit. Rose bud | |

| Tara, These bands are indeed fickle - I have a 10ml band and in the two years of having it have never been able to have more than 4mls in it - the most i had was 4.25 mls and within a day i could not keep anything down - even my own saliva. I had fill removed back down to 3mls and i could keep things down but it felt too tight. I always only have about 2 - 2.5 mls in my band - which sounds sooo tiny I don't even know HOW I have restriction sometimes!!! Liz | |
