Really sorry to see you go Tanya, you help make this board a fun place to be with your wicked sense of humour. Wish you all the best with your teaching and everything else you do. You will be missed! Might see you on the darkweb playing poker sometime ;)

All the best and thanks for doing a wonderful job here.

Hi guys,
I am hanging up my hat as a moderator and member of the forum .

I have taken on a greater teacher work load this year which sucks time right out of existance. I also think I have a good enough handle on the band to fly solo now. Thankyou to all the people I have met on the site. For those of you on my facebook, I look forward to keeping in touch that way :) To anyone else who might want to contact me my email is atayn73@yahoo.com.au or you can get me on facebook using that email to search with - although I am not a prolific user of FB (except to practice the dark arts of online poker) , it would be nice to think this is not goodbye.

There is a really helpful and diverse group here willing to share their ideas and experience - thankyou all.
Best wishes and Good luck.

hi every one !
Well what a rotten couple of weeks it has been here ! my husband has been so unwell he has not been able to eat and has been in enormous pain the weight has just dropped of him to the point that he is just a skeleton and so gaunt and draw in the face he has had an awful grey pallor i have been so worried about him !
He has had really bad pains in under the ribs and upper stomach area and very queasy . So after many tests and Cat scans they have found nothing the band is good and in position they found a cyst in the tail of his liver but that is alright He had a mole removed and it came back as an aggressive malanoma so he has surgery on the 20 th to take more away to be tested they say he is very lucky i noticed it when i did as the prognosis would have been worse if left for another month ! so he is of on saturday to have his band emptied as he needs to put on weight and start to get a bit healthy as he needs to incase he has to have chemo so it has been a horrid few weeks for us !I can not believe after years of been obese he now needs to gain weight seems a bit funny to me ..... Cheers Suzie

Delia is right, Tracey...it is because you have been so wonderfully prolific, that you have reached the limit...it is sto stop it taking so long to load. It can still be read by you and all, but it can no longer be added to. It is a default setting, unfortunately....

Your journal is locked to post in you can still read it. It has reached it's limit of posts in the journal so a new one is created. You can still read the other one.

PostSubject: My last 9 weeks - long read loss 7.3k   03/03/12, 06:02 am

I have to admit that I am frightened of deviating from the Dukan plan as I know if I allow wine, potato any wheat or sugar items into my plan I will be craving and will not be able to continue on Dukan. I will stick to it as long as I can. I am at the moment thinking that maybe I will be able to and then when I get to my goal weight I can add in some of the other things Dr Dukan says and see how I go. I am not losing fast but a kg over two weeks is ok. I have only had one breakout and that was for a wedding but got right back on to the plan the next day. I have had many social engagements over the past 5 weeks but worked around them all.

Oatbran muffins have been my savor and I take them everywhere.

I was 91.5k on the 1 of Jan 2012. I have lost 7.3k in the 9 weeks. First four weeks I was on 2 shakes a day and a veg. and protein meal at night. I am not bragging here well maybe just a tad but I am so happy.

I still have 13.2k to lose.

We are going to Fraser with our daughter and family next week for a week and I wonder how I will go. I am planning on taking chicken, Dukan cheese cake, soup and muffins and see if I can stick to the plan. Hoping we will be catching and eating fish so that will be a plus. They usually like fish and chips and takeaways but I am sure I can say no to them. We have never really been takeaways people.
I also make up two liters’ of mixed herbal tea every couple of days. Add sweetener and chill. It has been so nice on hot days.

It is hard I know and if I was not organized I could never do this.

I sound like I am singing Dukan praises and I guess I am but I have not lost weight for two years (after the 4 band operations I sort of lost my focus and put on 9k) I am very pleased and this morning I was just 200g away from the 84k on my ticker. It was to disheartening for me to put up the gains but now I am a very happy person. It has been worth the effort and I am swimming again but now that my shoulder is bad I have been told not to but I can still go to the salt water pool and walk up and down. I was surprised how many people actually do that. I can also do my exercises in there. Bonus I can then go for a surf and a walk along the beach.

Happy Yes - I am
Worth the Effort - Yes it is.
Future - I hope I can keep losing on Dukan.
Does the band help - Not sure but I do think it stops me eating especially to much protein. It takes a bit to go down at times. I usually have a cottage cheese yoghurt sauce it help with this.

We have had a lovey week. I think the best all summer but rain coming in again.
WE had 43inches last month but they never report that. It dumps on us at the foothill of the ranges.
