I had my band fitted on the 1st of May 2011 and for me it's better than winning gold lotto, very straight forward and my weight loss and exercise program has been and continues to be very easy and I say all because my type 2 diabetes has been reversed.

Great to hear your a May bandit aswell !!... How is the second time going for you?

I have been doing really well, lost 15.3 kgs. Only had a couple of small vomits and definatly come to the conclusion i cant eat bread lol..
I can still eat most things, just smaller amounts. Im human and have those days where my fingers reach for the chocolate or chips but im controlling that fairly well i think.

My next fill is 11th August, i currently have 3.03mls in but feel i want to try a little tighter..

A huge hello 2 every1,and thankgod 4 sites like this,i became a bandit on 6th july 2011,and would 2 hear from any1 close 2 my date,im only 1 week in2 the liquids,but havent gotten sick of them yet,im so eager 2 hear every1s insight about there journey and 2 be able 2 record my own

Suzzie, it is a roller coaster ride, you will have your ups and downs, just take it in your stride...I had some fill taken out to try and stop the vomitting ( It did not work) and gain 3 kgs, had it put back and now losing again.....up and down we go....just enjoy the trip!!!! Not as easy as we were all led to believe....!!!!

Don't worry, trust me, we've all been there on the countdown of sleeps until Bandit day!

It will be over before you know it!

Which state are you in? There are a number of support groups that meet up everynow and again, if you are interested in that....

Welcome to the forum, Cazz...I didn't do Optifast but Kicstart, provided by my Health Fund.

I was banded May, 2010....so I am just over 1 year down the track, and very happily 46 kg down. I feel great!

Welcome cazz you will get so much support from everyone here they are wonderful and always here for you. I get tingles when I hear someone is having a lap band I loved it when I had mine good luck with it all :)
