| Sharon It's the same as what i had and i took panadol it got stuck ! i was really uncomfortable for a few hours till they dissolved but for about three/ four days i would wake with real tightness and unable to eat untill later in the day when it loosened off a bit .. it was very scary and uncomfortable and i had swelling around the band from the trauma of the blockage ! just eat mushy foods or have soups ! good luck hope you feel better soon... | |

| I woke up with the same feeling in my chest. It was all tight. But through the day it seemed to get looser which is good. For tea tonight I was able to eat my normal volume. I cant say I am out of the woods but I am feeling a lot more happier than I was last night. I actually think I am getting a cold so possibly the tightness in my chest is due to that. I did call my doctor but he is away and I think he is meant to call me tomorrow but if everything is still ok tomorrow I will call and let his receptionist know that I am ok now. Thanks all for your concern. | |

| I had this feeling when my pouch had stretched and the eosophigal spinxer was getting lax... try doing liquids for a few days and cutting back on portions it may help. If this is the problem its and easy fix but one you prob wont like... it means and unfill for 6 weeks and then slow refilling. | |

| Have you taken any tablets. That sounds like when I have a tablet stuck. I always cut them in half now. Even panadol.
Let us know how you are. | |

| Thanks so much everyone. I have been researching and researching. No Tara I have not vomited and I also dont have any reflux. It is not painful at all. Just feel like food is just sitting in my chest. I can drink water relatively easy. I thought if it was a blockage it would make me get the saliva in my mouth that I have experienced during stuck moments and I would also not be able to get liquid down. Its really strange. Sometimes it feels as if my throat is closing up. I will see how I wake up in the morning. My restriction seemed to increase through the day. At first I was happy as I could not eat what I was able to before but now I am worried. | |

| Hiya Sharon,
Have you been spewing alot ? When my band had slipped I couldn't keep anything down even when totally unfilled and was vomitting black stuff especially during the night time.
What you have described does not sound like a slip to me. Perhaps a blockage of some sort? I reckon don't panic just yet. Head straight into your surgeon and see what he has to say.
One trick he could do instead of leaving you totally unfilled (cos you have worked hard to get to this level of fill) is insert the needle, suck out all the fill, have you stand up (with the needle still in) and take a massive scull of water (to flush any blockage through) and then top you straight back up to either your current level of fill or something a little less.
Let us know how you go. But I really think you'll know when you have a slip. Clear fluids in the meantime though.
Take care, Tara | |

| Maybe a blockage of sorts Sharon, something may have stirred up things. I'm not really too sure, it might pay to see the doc or just ring them and explain. Maybe your inflammed, i'd go back to liquid and see if that helps settle it down? Goodluck, hope all goes well. | |

| Help I am a very unpleasant feeling that I have a slipped band. My food feels like it is sitting in the bottom of my throat. Dont know what to do. Would an unfill help at all or would it mean surgery. Gee I hope not. | |
