| that's true Cate, better than a gain. I've been going up and down up and down...very frustrating. Some days i can eat anything, others everything gets stuck. The nature of the beast i guess. | |

| HI All....still losing very slowly, I mean 200g a month....!!!! but not gaining...so happy about that.....
Delia, I did not have any out yet, nothing has changed, have my good days and have the bad ones.....do feel that I suffer with first bite syndrome to the extreme!!!! if I do not work it slowly, I have not chance in keeping food down, it is just me and the way I work internally.......
No other news, hope everyone is travelling ok...xxxxx

| Hi all again...I am thinking about having some out, have not had any in since aug last year, but we are off on a few overseas trip this year, and really do not want to have problems whilst away.... ( what would one do with a bad blockage in Alaska!!!) so to play it safe, will get a wee bit out.....
Delia, drinks -if the fizz has gone it is fine, but if it is just opened, very painful...............sometimes I really crave for a fizzy, but that is odd as I have never been a fizzy drink person...
Still a day does not go by that I do not spew...once I get it going I am find, but it takes ages to work the first bit through...I have always been like this..what really makes me annoyed is that I take so long to eat a meal, either my hubby has eaten mine ( especially when we are out), it is stone cold by the time I can eat, or I just cannot be bothered to complete it and give it to the dog......sometimes I would love to have just one nice meal without the hassles.....I think many can relate to that!!!!

| Hi Cate Great that you did not put on over Christmas. I can't see that having carnation milk in your coffee is bad and I am guessing you are using the light one.
Fizzy drinks are one of the things I was told not to have. If I have one I make sure most if not all of the fizz is stirred out of it. The gas can stay in the pouch and causes you wind pain and the feeling of heaviness on the chest.
I had a very small amount (.15 of a mil) of fill out in Nov. and since them I am finding I am eating better and not having the I can't eat in the morning bit. If I did eat run the risk of bringing something up or having to wait in pain till it went down. Actually this could happen at any meal. It may be worth thinking of having a little out. I am now losing weight again as well. Delia

| Just a quick hello....the forum is quiet lately, well for August lot, how is everyone....not much news from here..still very slow in dropping the weight, did not put any on over xmas, I am sure if I really put my heart into weight reduction I would do better.....carnation milk with my coffee cannot be good!!!!
I still find it difficult to eat before 1 or 2pm, and than I have to work it through - a hot drink is a must first, and if I chew on a lollie 30 mins before it helps ( I suppose not a good habit to start!!) -just to get it all working...drinks before 1-2pm are ok, but only small mouthfulls, fizzy drinks I find painful, not sure why -any one else have that issue.......?

| Hiya Debs and Kirsten,
(Debs how talented are you!)
I just posted in the Goal Weight by Goal Date thread and then noticed you girls are both wanting to do shakes, soups, low cal at the moment too. Pop over and have a read - I won't repost here and hijack your thread.
Shall we all do a mini detox/shakes type thingy ? I'd love some company and inspiration. We could all suffer together lol.
Whatcha girls think ??
Cheers Tara | |

| Hi Kirsten, wow life sounds busy for you at the moment! Christmas is always pretty stressful i guess. Its pretty calm for me as i don't have kids, but i have a biggish family that i have to shop for and the shops are always so stressful. I should learn not to put it off until the last minute. lol I have a box of Optifast i am trying to convince myself to start, to try and kick start my loss again but my mojo is gone. Its been gone for months unfortunately. I really thought my 'dieting' days would be over with a band. Ah well, you live and learn. lol I posted some pics below of my concrete stuff...i've been making them when the rain stays away using wet sand which i sculpt into my mold shape. I then make the garden bowls from concrete in the sand molds, scribe them and cure them before adding stained glass mosaic inserts or pebbles or whatever. They're just like birdbaths i guess but sit on the ground on a low plinth so they can sit amongst your garden and the birds use them as drinking bowls or to cool off in in the summer. You can also use them as feeders and put some birdseed in them and leave them in the garden to attract native birds...what else...you can fill them with water and float tealight candles in them at night time and they shine off the stained glass and make really pretty garden lights. They are concrete so you can pretty much do anything with them. LOL Anyway, here are some pics. debsx > >

| Well Christmas is fast approaching, and there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything organised. Were off to WA for X-mas, (can't wait) but between work, child and life, I'm just busy busy. Perhaps my wonder woman cape feel off somewhere along the way...... Whats everyone up to for chrissy? I'm going to have a few days of a protein shake for breaky, Kate Morgan for lunch and soup or something low cal for dinner, I need a little kicker to get me into the 70s. Sometimes I find I can eat way to much and give myself port site pain, so a few days of liquids will hopefully do my band and my arse some good :)
Debs, you should post some pics of your art, I would love to see what you've been making

| Hi Kirsten, no i haven't been to the doc yet. I know i should go and have a chat though. I don't think its an adjustment thing...well it could be, i can eat more than i'm supposed to be able to, but its a real head game with me. For you its your red, for me its night time eating. It seems like my band disappears at night and being an insomniac i am left awake and bored and feeling hungry. I have something to eat around midnight on most nights which is a bad habit and is probably causing me to stall. I've tried other things, like reading, doing art, watching telly...but i never truely feel sleepy until i've had something to eat...and its usually a can of soup of something. My stalling is my own fault i know....but maybe a tighter band will physically force me to change my evil ways for a while and kick start my loss again. Congrats on loosing the 30kg that is awsome. I really hope you hit those 70's. I'd be happy to hit the 80s!
You should have a go at some arty stuff, its great fun. I have a flickr album with pics of my work on there...everything from concrete to glass, mosaic, painting, clay just general random photo's. I can give you the link if you want to check it out sometime.

| Hi Ladies,
Long time no hear.... How is everyone? Thats no good about your bug Cate, but good news about the other 1/2. Hi Debs, How creative making the stained glass and concrete creations. I've often thought about doing some stuff like that but it just never happens. So your on a plateu, have you been back to the doc for an adjustment or discussion? Well for me things are small ups and small downs. I've lost about 30kg now. I'm so hopless when it comes to alcohol, and when I drink I maintain for a bit, then a little increase. I want to hit the 70s before christmas, ever 79.999999 would thrill me but I need to stop drinking for this to happen. I sound like drunk, lol, but It's just I love my red...... :)

| HI Cate, so sorry to hear you've had such a bad bug...sounds awful. NO wonder you lost a couple of kilos if you were constantly on the loo. Poor thing, i hope you're feeling a bit better now. That's good news re your hubby, glad his heart tests were all clear. Wow you've lost 35kgs? That is awesome! My weightloss has stalled at between 93-95kg for months and months and months...just can't loose anything. Its like i don't even have a band. Feeling quite down about it all but trying not whinge as i know it gets annoying. Very frustrated by it all though....just feel like giving up. Think i'm probably just meant to stay fat, or semi-fat now. lol You're right though, it is so quiet on here...don't know where everyone is. We should go and join one of the active months, i wonder if they'd take on a couple of august refugees....? lol As for me non weight wise, i've been working on my art and making concrete things for the garden....birdbaths and candle holders and bowls made out of concrete and stained glass. Going much better than the weightloss! lol debsx | |

| How quiet it is!!!!! where r u all.....welll the last 10 days saw hubby back in brissie having test for his heart - all ok, but also me with the most terrible stomach bug..OMG the diarrhea was endless, and the pain - very sore muscles and terrible headaches - end result 2 kgs down..not a good way to have weight loss!!!!....BUt overall I have lost nearly 35kgs - it is so slow, but it is happening......I think Gym would also help, must motivate myself, somehow!!!
I see some are having issues with reflux etc.....I eat very little and I am very careful, have no hunger, but I will pick if I can......and I still spew...lol
