Stall outs or Platu is what my life is all about right now.

My surgon says that for the amount of weight I have to loose total about 150 pounds that it will take me about two years to reach my goal. He says that stall outs/platus are common and that it is the body's way of catching it's breath after the inital schock of the pre op diet, surgery and new eating pattern. He says if we keep on drinking our water, working out and eating the right things in the right amounts that the weight loss will pick back up.

I've lost about seventy four pounds in a year, and I've been on a plateu since May, it sucks and sometimes I wonder if banding was the right choice for me.

Hi Everyone it has been a while work and family just seem to take up all my time these days !
Have not been doing to good had a bit of a weight gain not much 3 kilo's but enough to feel the effects and feel miserable ..
It is my will power it failed me i work at a busy hospital and every day in the tea room there is mountains of yummy goodies for everyone to eat and if you don't try a little bit of everything on offer they get a bit offended so a nibble here a nibble there bugger ..
Any way after 6 months at the Hospital CSSD i am finally moving to my own department at Dental on Wednesday next week so no more temptations thank goodness and i am able to walk to and from work every day whoo hoo so have already started to shift the weight gain nearly back to my pregain weight now just have to concertrate on my goal just 7 more kilo's and i am there ..... Hope everyone is good and happy cheers Suzzie .....

The information in the attachment is very interesting, before I had my band I was told I had to see a dietitian first and I so glad I did.

My success is all because of my brilliant surgeon and dietitian, I havent see my dietitian for 6 months and I don't remember what all my measurements are so I'll have to book an appointment and have a chat.

Its interesting about the water intake because during summer I easily drink 4 litres or more of water a day and if outside working on the house then easily 8 litres but when its winter I sometimes struggle drink a litre of straight water.

That was intersting reading - thanks for that info Zippy

I agree with everything, but I am really naughty when it comes to drinking water. Will have to change my drinking routine and carry water around with me, rather have a coffee or a tea.

An excellent read ... it puts it all down very clearly and takes the frustration out of it
