Susie I heard back from my friend. I think it might be too far to go for you.

david dalton is at the shepparton private hospital, hes the main one
that does bands here . Private Consulting suites, Suite 2 / 20
Fitzgerald Street
Shepparton, VIC 3630

Phone
(03) 5821 9217

Fax
(03) 5831 2057

He's lovely and very understanding of bands etc.

Mightn't be any use to you but she is very happy with him

Yes I did go back and see him and he has scheduled another appointment for 6 months time to make sure Im ok.

He is a lovely doctor and has been really good through this removal... if he hadnt been so posative I think I would have just lost the plot.

So far so good... I actually lost 5 kilo after the band came out because I could eat all the salad and steak etc that I wanted and I was craving it soooo bad so gutzed on it... however when Christmas hit I regained 2 of the five lost so am trying to get back on track and stop eating the carby crap.

doc peck thinks that I can do it on my own and was very posative with statistics etc but gave me unsolicited assurance that if I need to he is there with solutions that we can discuss and find one that suits me... that I can tell you is very comforting to know

Thanks Zip, you're probably right. I just thought seeing its a liquid it would go through the band and into the stomach before it swelled. I guess there could be some residue that might get stuck though...hmmm...so frustrating...i just don't know what to do anymore. Not to worry, i'm fine, just feeling down in the dumps that i'm gaining again....

How are you going Zip? Are you doing ok without the band? Feeling in control? Hope it's all going ok for you. Did you end up seeing Dr Peck again? He's a nice man isn't he. Think i need to be go back for more fill or something....
Hope all is well with you.

debs I wouldnt risk taking anything that swells in your belly while you have a band. We are warned against psyllium which swells as it can block the band requiring surgery to unblock it.

We dont have acid in the pouch to dissolve anything that is in there so anything that would swell up in the top part would simply stay there till manualy removed. Also you would risk stretching the pouch and there fore making things worse and leading you towards band removal.

Think I might look into it though...now my band is out it could help

Thanks Westy, that could be it. Its the one that's supposed to swell in your tum like a 'jelly ball' making you feel full. Just wondered if anyone had any actual experience with it.

Congrats Suzzie, on the new job and the new schnoz! What a good week you've had. Must be so nice to be able to beath again properley. Well done on both fronts.
Hope you had a great chrissy too.

On another note, just wondering if anyone has tried that Rapid Loss 'jelly ball' meal replacment drink? My sister just got some and says she can notice a big difference in the amount she can eat (she is not a bandit) and i know i shouldn't need something like that...but.....

Hope everyone had a nice christmas.
