Thanks Beth, I got to big W but kinda had a n inner protest against being size 20 and left empty handed- now Mum's lending me hers :)

Thanks Tracey, I am just stoked that my surgeon vito'd the nurses rules and is letting me wear undies! Thank God for small mercies.

Not long to go raerae how exciting I was beside myself with excitement before mine and now it's nearly six weeks since I was banded and it's been a wonderful and positive journey. You will be fine before you know it everything will be done and dusted :)

I am having my banding on 17 March at Joondalup WA. Optifast coming on ... lost 8 kilos so far. Excited, scared, and will be glad when its all over. Going public cause I dont have private cover.
I really enjoy watching the posts, both from bandits and about to be bandits!

PostSubject: Getting down to the wire now...   23/02/11, 11:11 am

Tomorrow I am seeing my anaesthetist and dietician, and paying my Dr fees!
And as much as parting with the 1K pains me (poor savings account) that means it's exactly 30 days until my op!
Starting to get excited now.... :)

Lol, the list has left out a donkey to carry it all.

I think the most optimistic thing about optifast is it's name. I made it for like a day without breaking rules... oh dear.

Started Opti yesterday. Wasn't too bad, but then l cheated a few times with some chicken breast, and a chicken caesar salad. Both have negligable carbs so l think it's sort of okay...

doesn't sound too pleasant

What's so unpleasant about having a scope the size of a garden hose shoved down your gullet??? It could be worse!!! (ie shoved up the other end while you're awake!!!!)

Hehehehe

Good to hear. l googles endoscopy to make sure l knew what it was - doesn't sound too pleasant. No psychologist for me either. l did have to see the dietitian, but it was just to give me a run down of what to eat in the days and weeks after banding and l found it pretty good. l also liked that it was free (or at least included in the price of the surgery)

I didn't have an endoscopy (or see a dietician or psychologist). It just depends on the surgeon.

Steiny, They did my bloods with the endoscopy. You aren't having one then?

I went in today and there were 4 of us lined up for the same thing ( 2 other girls and a guy). One of the girls has the same banding date, the other is close so I may see her in hostpital.

I have routinely been staying up till 5 am recently so the drug induced catnap was very welcome. Then I heard "Tanya wake up..." I thought it was my 3.5 yo daughter so when I opened my eyes I was confused as to why she was so much older ;) I had to laugh. Then I asked if I snored and the nurse said yes. Oh God!

I just joined you over in the goal weight by goal date thread. I actually feel very nervous about that because now I am going to need some results!

Wow Tanya, it is all happening.
For me l just have a blood test in a week or so, do opti for 2 weeks, then l turn up on the day of the operation. Hopefully l'm not missing anything :-()
