Well I am mortally offended at even the SUGGESTION that there should be a band to sleeve thread. What are you people thinking? I do get taken aback by all the band-bashing here . . . . . . . I mean really, let's be honest about it, you lot just haven't tried at all have you? Hmmmmmm? If you'd put any effort at all into losing weight with a band, then you wouldn't all have to go and get a sleeve. You just don't want to take any responsibility for yourselves, do you?

In case anyone is in doubt, a touch of sarcasm there.

YES I love the idea of a band to sleeve thread. Then we will have all the information together.

Come on Debs what is your appetite like. I remember zips not being hungry and then it changed for the worst.

Debsey do dah,

* Sunday night ABC2 at 7.30pm is the repeat. (EDIT --- OOPS WRONG Sunday night is the repeat of tonight's episode. Clearly I have no idea what day it is !)
* Love your pic - saw it on Hodge's thread.
* When do we get more pics of your art stuff ????
* OH, OHHHH have you heard of PINTEREST ???
(Google, join and then search the topics that interest you. Then you start following people's threads who's crap ya like.)

You could start in Arts and Crafts and you'll be hooked almost immediately - seriously it's worse than Heroin and Sugar all at once.

Okie dokie, so I might go mark the calender and start the official countdown.
My goodness no more hanging over the basin. What will the neighbours make of the silence !!

How you going on portion sizes ? Ooooh and what ya eating ?? You have been FAR to quiet -- I want the blow by blow account too.

Maybe we should start a Band to Sleeve thread here ??

What does everyone think about that ?? I just don't wanna offend anyone here by taking over here with band bashing rants.

But I do love our community and would love to stay so opinions people please !

Hooroo
Tara

LOL Tara. I missed the latest ep of that show so i missed the lapband lady. It doesn't sound good though, sounds like she's going to be in for a hell of a time. Hope they replay that episode.
Oh my god...20 days! That's going to go so fast. I want you on here giving a blow by blow account of it all. LOL I'm an evil bitch. Bahahaha.... Can't wait till you have it done then we'll be on the way to sleeve world :)

Debs,

I counted today - 20 days ----- soooooo eeeek.

MY goodness did you see that bloody woman on that show that got the band. I wanted to slap her (but I am getting mean in my old age!)

She was carrying on sooooooooooooooo badly just getting the anesthetic and her first fill that I see only perils and whinging ahead for her.

Ha ha ha now that I've said that out loud I just realissed I am all perils and whinging myself- well reality's a b*tch eh !!!

I believe the cutie possum Doctor on that show is Mr SUPER !!!!

Linda i've been trying to watch those shows when they're on...interesting but i also wonder how they'll be in a couple of years. I guess that could be said with traditional weightloss though hey...with diet and exercise you can be fat again in a year or two. It seems whether its surgery or diet we all have the same battles in the long run. Sigh. I do have a bit of a crush on that surgeon in the show though...i forget his name but he's a bit cute :)

Delia sorry you've hurt your foot. What a pain in the arse but well done on getting back to your pre chrissy weight. It sounds like a good idea to devote this year to you as you always seem so busy. Its Delia time!

Tara i'm well. I can eat anything, my appetite is fine though i'm probably eating slightly less than i did before. I weigh slightly more though so go figure. LOL I also feel like i'm getting a bit of reflux or heartburn or something. I go and see Doc P on the first of Feb for a checkup so i'll let him know and see what he says. My cuts are healing well though even though i've still got some bruising but overall i feel like i haven't had anything done.
When is your surgery again Tara?

Debs glad you are feeling a lot better.

Tara that is not good. BUGGER

Zippy your picture looks fantastic and glad your daughter liked the kindle.

Linda so glad you are safe.

Losingit hang in there.

Me I am ok but did my foot in so had to keep off of it for a couple of weeks
but the physo says I can start short 5 minute walks tomorrow but still doing
gym work. I miss the walking. I am back to what I was before Christmas and with
no walking that is not too bad.

I have given up a lot of the volunteer work I do and this year is going to
be mine. Concentrating on losing the last 10k and getting fit.

Cheers

Linda I've just looked it up, and it seems there are a number of episodes - there have already been 2. You could catch the previous ones on iview:

http://www.abc.net.au/iview and just use the search button to find what you want.

Haven't seen any of them, but they are filmed in the UK. Could be interesting.

There is a doco on channel 22 on Wed night at 8.40 called my big fat operation. Not sure if it about a sleeve or something else. Could be worth having a look at.

$600 is pretty steep huh. I guess we have no choice but to pay it, and you're right Zip, its cheaper than the other bloke. He was about $1800 or something like that.

Agree with losingit...great pic zip!

I got my bill from the anaethetist today. $700 so not too bad! Then i got my contribution from my health fund...$127. WTF! How crap is that? That's all their going to pay out of 700 bucks? Bloody hell. I rang them today because i was so stunned and they said that they only have to pay 25% and medicare pays 75% of the schedual fee. I have to wait until medicare sends the rebate now. I just couldn't believe it though...120 bucks.... i tell ya....
