| Well that sounds doable. Then you could save some money for a holiday if you stay off ebay! | |

| step away from the scales honey bunny.... I avoid them till I feel my clothes fit differently then if I force myself I get on.
He said we can live off camp in a house so we would go home every night... no I would not work with him just at the same mine so I would only see him when we went home at night and travel to and from site.

| I think we have scared everyone away. I see Delia post on facebook.
ooooooooooooooooooooooo working at the mine where your husband is would be hard. Would you share quarters? Will he be your boss? I hated working with Alan when we had a business. There was never any down time or something different to talk about. That is a big decision for you.
I am a misery gutz today. I have a sore back from lifting an old tv. I also have my daughter and partner coming tonight for the weekend and wanted to clean. Alan said he would do it so I should just sit back and be grateful. I don't do grateful graciously! I have not weighed since going on holidays. I am terrified to see the scales tip over the magic 100.

| Huroooooo... long time no fricken see!  My internet connection has been dodgy at best and even though I can get on sometimes and read, usually by the time I have typed a post the farker has cut out again and I cant send anything.  Loosingit you are such an inspiration to me... I wish I could get in and make my fruit bricks early.... I never do and end up making the 3 ingredients fruit cake about a week before christmas ( not anywhere near acceptable but beats the big sister card board box variety)  How is everyone doing... its blardy same ole same ole here, freezing cold and miserable grey. Thinking of taking my hubbys offer of working with him in the mines... it will just be hard to leave my fluffy white footballs and my daughter for 2 weeks at a time buuuut life is an adventure as the say.  Job wouldnt start to near or after Xmas so it gives me time to get my head round it all... bit of a big decision for me but a lil exciting too I spose.  My weight has stabalised again at 68kg... it plummeted to round 60kg at one stage through stress and lack of food but I have eaten it back up again which is good.  I have put an upper limit of 72 but have to say its not easy to get it up there... mind you a couple of weeks of crap food auta do it.  Food wise ... Im not really hungry... I get pangs but not often, mostly I eat cos my eyes tell me too. Maybe this will change in time. I am now 16 months out of my sleeve op and I am still happy with it. However when I look at what happened to poor deb I would never suggest it to anyone unless they really researched the goods and bads for a really long period before jumping in...even then I would not encourage anyone either way.  Tara I see your going great guns... I am really happy for you. My loss was slow too but it does get there and to be honest my body shape is better than it was with the band...oddly my belly is much flatter than it was at this weight with the band. My ass is also smaller but I think thats menopause and lack of hormones for that .  Linda binda.... glad your back and had a soooooper time on your holiday  Has anyone heard from Delia? | |

| Ha ha I had forgotten all about the Christmas cakes.
Gunna have to start scoping out my clients now to see who cooks em and who I can bludge a slice of when the time comes.
The sleeve should be much more forgiving of a slice (or wedge) of cake than the band was .. woo hoo and drool.

| In regard to the Christmas cakes - no, they get no further drink along the way. I usually macerate the fruit for 2-3 days in whisky, then it is plump (not at ALL like me!) when I mix the cake. I wrap them up really well after they have cooled, and I find that they moisten up nicely. One reason for doing them now is that I don't mind having the oven on for a few hours in winter, whereas closer to Christmas you sort of have to pick your day when you don't mind warming up the house. That's my excuse, anyway. | |

| Thank you girls.
Gosh ya know it is such a worry the risks of surgery.Â
After the whole Debs thing I bailed my surgeon up and asked his stats on these things and it seems they usually go well but when they go wrong they go very, very wrong !
The usual risk / problem / epic fail rate is about 2%.
And ya know I have been thinking about that number.
When I signed up for the op I was all like yeah no worries 1% is seriously low ... when in fact that is one person in every one hundred having major issues.Â
Maybe cos we know that one person it has brought it home to me.
I seriously I don't remember anyone, when mentioning when I was poo pooing the1% that the risk was actually of spending 3 months in Hospital !
Okay so I'm saying nothing new here ... just been thinking is all. And missing our Debs !!!
Tara
Ps - Losing it, I am soooooooo impressed you have your Xmas cakes all done and dusted. Even my Grannies (the aged women I care for) have not done theirs yet. The cakes are gunna be so scrummy by xmas time. Do you give then a little drink every now and then ? Tell me ya do !

| Tara I meant to say well done on booking the trip. Losingit I know what you mean. I can't bear the thought of going through what Debs is. I think I will be a fatty too. | |

| Hiding under a rock - otherwise known as winter hibernation. Hate the cold.
Christmas cakes in the oven - they smell great. Unfortunately there was a bit of mixture left in bowl, and I didn't want to wash it down the sink. Too much to fit in the tins. Soooooooo . . . . . . . . I won't go on, you can imagine what happened to it. I call it quality control!
Think I'm getting fatter by the day. Good to hear at least someone is on the right track - good on you, Tara.
Linda I'm so over the weight thing too. Maybe I'm just meant to be a fatty for the rest of my life.Â
Hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel for Debs. Must be awful - she has had a really rough trot. When I think of further WLS, all I can imagine is that I may well end up the same way. If nothing else, I should have the demon band removed. I'd probably cark it if they tried that. Too embarrassed to turn up at the surgeon's in this condition.
What the f&%$ is going on with the ALP? Can't see them pulling together properly for a long time.

| Linda Pinda,
Hiya !! Gosh, where is everyone else ??? We know where Debs is but you other girls are MIA. Excuses please.
I'm good thanks - planning my first overseas trip in over 20 years !! Holy cow eh. Â
I had almost given up all hope of ever going anywhere again but in March next year it's Rome here I come.
AND ... all going well I may no longer be a fatty boom bah !?!?! I hardly dare dream it. Â So far I've lost um .. I dunno about 8 kilos. Finally cracked the 100 kilos (which does feel good) sitting between 98 and 99 so I'm happy about that.
Actually I must say I am rather jaded, bitter and twisted (yes I know you guys already know that).Â
On the sleever's monthly thread you see all these bright eyed virgin sleevers saying things like "20 kilos gone forever" and "I'll never be this weight again". I have to bite my tongue and not correct them or shatter their dreams. (It's hard - lol.)
So the moral to my story is I'll see how I go in a year or two - then I will shout success from the rooftops but for now I am only mumbling mini glad tidings.

| How are ya moles? I am back from Bali. Had a lovely holiday. We both have colds though. Poor Debs, I feel so sorry for what she is going through. I hope to god she has at least lost some weight. Now I need to lose 20 kgs and I am not in the mood for it. Not motivated at all. In fact I bought some nice big tops in Bali. I am so over this weight business. | |

| Ahh Linda ... somehow calling us Moles made me giggle Thank you!!
Have an awesome time in Bali - woo hoo. (*insert jealous here*) {Mind you if I stayed off ebay I could afford a holiday so remove jealousy and insert ownership of one's own bad behaviour!}
Nah I haven't heard from Debs either. I pm'd her ages ago and got a response, then heard she was maybe gunna get sent home soon , then nothing so I am assuming she went down hill a bit (hopefully not !) and is still stuck in there. Gosh doesn't ya heart just go out to her.
Quizzing my surgeon on Monday about these complications he said that statistically this happens to about 1 in 100.
Holy crap eh. Sooooooooooo glad I didn't know that going in. And I'm so sad our Debs was the 1 in 100.
There are 2 others over on the forum who are in the same trouble as Debs. Not good.
Anyway (ya mole) have a lovely time away.
Hi to Losin it and Zip !!!!!!

| Hey girls (moles)
Just letting you know that we are off to bali first thing in the morning. I have survived house guests and the rocking is not too bad. I am hoping to come back rock free.
Has anyone heard from Deb? I know she hasn't updated her diary.

| Ba ha ha yeah I know - spewing !!
It was a good one too.
I cheered you on for still not drinking (but that was before the Mum & Sibling stuff and the sabotaging white wine bringing in husband !)
And I was really excited by previous uses of the word rooted - it's just such a good word !!
Oh and I think I threw about the word "mole" too, that's another Aussie-ism I just love.
"How ya goin' ya pack of moles !!!"
