I have been doing research on travel insurance with a lapband. The best I came across is good2go. Allianz and medibank cover bands as well.

Yes it is considered a pre existing condition. I have had it twice from medibank private. You have to be banded for 1 year I think or it may be 2 I can't remember, before you can get it. There are some other companys that do it as well. You will have to check around but you must mention the lapband.

Hi Ive just joined this site and was wondering if anyone has applied for travel insurance. My question is: is having a lap band considered a pre existing medical condition? On sites i have looked at it has not been mentioned but.....? Will probably end up contacting my doctor, but maybe someone out there can help?
