Hi everyone

haven't been on here much lately.

I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, have lost motivation and am finding it hard to get back into it

haven't put on any weight in fact have lost a little since I was on here last but feel so guilty for such a blow out on junk food over the last few weeks.

Don't no what to do. saw my surgeon on Friday and he agreed with me that I don't need a fill at this point in time and he suggested I should stop feeling so guilty because I'm still loosing weight but it's hard after I have been so strict with myself in the previous 7 months

Ohhh yes that is so true. I feel like I eat one bad thing and it gains me a kilo lol.

Sharon I go up and down like a yoyo! I never knew you could loose overnight and find it again after lunch ;)

A bit of a gain this morning. I got a .3 mls this morning so hopefully all will be better now.

Hi Trisha...

I hear you. I too am on thyroxine...hypothroidism does make for a sluggish metabolism anyway, so maybe a kick up a notch will do it for you...At the end of the day, simple things like taking the stairs instead of the lift, and parking the car a bit further away than normal, all contribute.

I am doing bootcamp twice a week, which is what I had been doing previously so maybe it it time to up the frequency and add in something else. I tend to find walking a bit boring but that might have to be the additional item to fit it in between work and studying. I know I do have a sluggish metabolism anyway - am on Thyroxine - so might have to up the levels that I am taking and add in extra exercise.

I think my motivation and patience have gone off for a bit of a visit somewhere - so if anybody finds them, could you send them back to me please?!

A question? Are you doing any exercise? Sometimes when you plateau, the metabolism needs a bit of a kickstart to get in to weight loss mode again...the body is very self preservative and tries to hold on to it's reserves, but if you up your activity, it needs to burn more fat for energy. Remember more energy out cals burned than cals in...

I bought scales today and when I jumped on them found I am the same weight or 100 gm more than 6 weeks ago! Even allowing the slight fluctuation with different scales I would have hoped to have lost something in that time.

I've not been having any major moves away from the standard eating plan, just not quite so rigid, but not budging and it had slowed down at the last fill. Have had a couple of "sticking" episodes which were yug and so now avoiding bread altogether ( not previously a problem) and trying to make sure I remember to chew chew chew if having solid meats.

I'm wondering if it would be worth going back onto a liquid only type meals for a couple of weeks to kick start again, or restricting intake further - not quite sure what would work. Any body tried going back to either Sustagen and liquids or even Optifast (which I didn't have to do prior to surgery) to get their weight loss started again?

Well I have managed to get to my half way mark. And then another kilo. Things are going swimmingly for me atm and I am really happy.

Well done Sharon. I am more than a little disappointed this week. I decided it was time to start exercising, have been really good foodwise and exercised four times this week. I weigh everyday and it has been going up. Today I am 100 grams down. It's stupid. This is the hardest I have worked at it and my smallest loss. Anyway I know it will be the way the moon is angled or some shite but it is still frustrating. Here's hoping for a better loss next week. I will keep exercising and wait for my body to catch up. Now....just a little word....when you say you are hungry, are you sure it is hunger??? Sometimes it is thirst that is the problem, rather than hunger. ( Sometimes it is our head, too!!!)

Try a glass of water first, and if you are still hungry, have something to eat like a cracker, rather than a piece of cheesecake or something like that, and get up and do something distracting, like walk around the house, change rooms, anything, just something different.

My two cents....take it how you will....

Can you give me one too Beth. OMG what havn't I eaten lately. Will definatley be asking for a fill in March. I will chew chew chew all I can to avoid sticks but need that fill.

I really wanted to find out the sex of the baby and when I went for my scan, they told me it was a girl. I had to go back again the next day becasue they needed some more shots of the baby - and it would turn the 1st day to be in the correct position - and then they told me it was a boy.
I'm guessing that it is a boy, becasue you can't see it if it isn't there, but I don't feel confident so I will wait for ot to be born before buying anything new for the baby. It can wear hand my downs in the beginning.
