| Oh Suzzie, how awful - there is nothing more debilitating than back pain! I do hope that your doctor gets on top of things very quickly...I know how intensly frustrating it can be.
A small chocolate bar every now and again is not a sin, in fact I think it is a must! We must be first and foremost "normal" in this journey...if we deprive ourselves completely, then what sort of life are we leading....a miserable one. The key though, is that it is a rare treat!
Do not beat yourself up about it, Suzzie....we are all here to support you. If you can, try some swimming or even walking in a warm pool.....great for back pain!
Our thoughts are with you...

| Hi guys just checking in .. Am not a happy chappy these days an old back injury has flared up and i am in chronic pain all the time ! years ago i damaged the L5S1 disc in my lower back and now it looks like i have an impringed nerve root to the left leg So i am struggling big time to stay in control as depression takes hold i can not exercise i am not sleeping and am on a cocktail of pain killers and anti inflamitorys .. DR wants me to go and have a CT scan so am booked in for that next week . I sat and ate a small bar of chocolate tonight made me feel sick but i still ate it .. Tomorrow i am going to try to get on top of it but i am so sleep deprived its not funny And i can not afford to take time of work so have to still get up at 6am and go to work i am on seven straight this week so thats a killer for me!! Ok i have got it out of my system i just needed to vent a bit and i know you guys will support me and encourage me to stay strong and i really need that at the moment .....Cheers suzzie ...... | |

| Two litres of water is the recommended amount...I however often struggle to reach that...depends on how much exercise I am doing...I can always drink more water when I am exercising than when I am not...it just slides through my band when I am active, and I have to sip slowly when I am not. Go figure... | |

| Thanks guys I will defiantly try less carbs and i have just changed in the last 2 days my gym workouts. Maybe less carbs might help cross fingers. Thankyou again one more question how much water should i have in a day? | |

| Really good advice Beth. Between the different type of exercise, much less carbs (20 to 40g a day if possible), and more protein you should be able to trick your body into giving up the kgs. Also remember that the 5 days a week at the gym will be adding muscle (which weighs more than fat), so you'll be smaller and look kilos lighter to everyone else. | |

| Sammy, All I can suggest exercise wise, is do something you haven't done before...try some different type of cardio exercise to really get your heart rate up into the fat burning zone. I know that you are going to the gym 5 days a week, but are you always doing the same thing? try something out of the ordinary and keep going until you feel you just can't do anymore! I use a variety of things....especially my Wii - I have a program called Wii Sports Active 2...it is like a personal trainer, and really gives a great workout - you target cardio, upper body, lower body, core (that's what works for the tummy!), fitness, weights...it is a different workout every time and I find it great. I lost 6kg in 10 days when I first started using it! Now I use it 3-4 times a week and also use a cross trainer, a reclining bike and a treadmill. Lay off the carbs for a while too...really cut down as well. Congrats at getting within 4 kg of goal and more congrats on your wedding! | |

| Hi guys i need some help. My wedding is only 3 weeks away i and i still have about 4kg to go till my goal weight, and its just not budging. I have been going to to gym 5 times a week, watching what i am eating and drinking about 1.5L of water a day. I need some words of wisdom on how to lose this last bit. I know i have done well to have already got this far but it is my wedding and i want to be there at 65kg. anyones sugestions would be great. p.s i still have a lot of belly so some tummy excercises that work would be good. | |

| Have to be honest, as we have so many ( big blended family with foster kids as well....) sometimes I just have to say 'no' to them staying, I work long hours, on call 24/7 and often feel like the parents do the dump and run, we even get their pets staying.......hard especially when the kids will not sleep through a night and worse when they sleep in your bed......do love them all.......lol

| Sammy every bride is beautiful, but you are going to be a stunner! Are you having a traditional wedding or something different?
Beth, I love reading your happy bits, they are like affirmations :) but could you just remind me again, what's a belt? |

| Suzzie,
Great to hear from you! I am so sorry to hear family has been affected by the quake...what a devastation. Thanks be that they are all physically OK...material things can be replaced, but loved ones cannot.
Congratulations to both you and your husband. Believe me I do know how fantastic you feel, cos I do too! My only regret is not doing this YEARS ago. I feel I have wasted so much of my life being FAT!!!
I am determined to make up for it though! I love clothes shopping. I bought a pair of size 14 shorts a little while ago, and now I have to wear a belt with them cos they are loose around the top!!! OMG, who'd have ever thought it???? Less than one year ago I was a Size 24-26!!!!! I am currently in a 14 bottom, 16 top. I am ecstatic!!!! I feel so well, can cross my legs comfortably, feel toned, my handbag never falls off my slopy shoulders anymore. What a hoot to have baggy clothes cos I keep losing weight!!!!
I love it!!! Still have problems with the head though, adjusting to the fact I am not obese anymore (according to the charts, I am 'merely' overweight). I can remember less than 12 months ago being horribly daunted by the fact that I needed to lose at least 50 kg, thinking that I would NEVER be able to do it. I now have only about 11 kg left to lose. I found my magic tool in the band. I have not regretted my decision to have it for one millisecond!!!
Please keep in touch! Love to hear how you are going!

| Suzzie, congratulations on the weight loss! And to your husband :)
I'm so sorry for you as a New Zealander, it is just devastating news with 200 presumed gone now. In such a small population this will directly affect a lot of people. Wonderful news about your family though.
Keep up the good work with your weight loss, you deserve the results :)

| Hello Vogette ! just popped in to update . Wednesday i finally go for a fill its been 5 long months but i have come through it unharmed . as of this morning i weigh 85.6 kilos so in 5 months i have lost 9.4 kilo's i am so proud of myself i could bust.. Hubby has done just as good he to weighs 85 kilos but in 5 months he has lost 11 kilos ! we are both feeling amazing wearing nice clothes and getting so many comments on our weight loss. I know i need a fill because i can chug down a glass of water in seconds and eat any thing i want and i mean anything there has been a lot of will power happening here lol.. These last few days have been hard as i have had a lot of stress with my home country in disppear family members homeless but safe we went through a 24hr period of not knowing what was happening to them ! But please to say all is well some homes have been lost but no life's with in our family ! I can only remember one earth quake when i was a child and what i remember about that one is bad enough. so guys that is my update ! i hope everyone is doing well and i wish you all the best on this amazing journey . CHEERS SUZZIE.... | |
